video-fu.com is a showcase outlet for short films (from 60 seconds to 10 minutes) and mobile-ready content by independent film makers suitable for mobile video distribution channels, including compatiblity and readiness for 3G mobile phones, video iPod and other mobile/portable entertainment systems.

For viewers, it is FREE to download and view short films and 'webisodes' over any medium, rate it, leave feedback and contact the creator. For content creators, it is FREE to register, upload a short film for online viewing for 30 days, where we will rights-protect it and make it available, whether it is viewed on a mobile phone, PC or by podcast.

video-fu™ provides a podcast-ready distribution and showcase channel for independent and short film makers and content creators. As well as protecting your work, we will track views, ratings and feedback, and provide your contact details to interested producers, distributors and broadcasters (with your approval).

We will constantly seek new distribution, showcase channels and partners on your behalf to reach the widest possible audience.


 

 ‘how to do I show my work?’
Your content can be a 60 second piece or full 10 minute short film, web episode, music video, show reel or a teaser content for a longer film. Just upload your content in a mobile-ready format into our database over the internet, provide details such as genre and credits and we'll make it accessible to a number of platforms including broadband internet, 3G networks, webTV, wap, video iPods, PlayStation portables, PDAs etc, as well as protecting it with Digital Rights Management. To make your content mobile ready, you should prepare it to fit the following :-

• QCIF (176x144) or QVGA (320x240) dimensions
• Encoded at up to 384kbps (preferably 192) bitrate
• Up to 10 minutes run time, inc. credits
• Maximum filesize of 20mb (10 mins at QVGA 384k mp4)
• MPEG4 Simple Profile (.mp4, .3pg) or h264 format (.m4v, .mp4)

Early in Q2 2006, video-fu is expecting to be able to offer the facility to convert and encode your short films for you.
 

 ‘is it free?’
Yes, to register, upload and showcase your video content for up to 28 days, it is FREE for content creator and FREE for the viewer. If you want to showcase your video content for longer, or have more than one video available at a time, you will need to upgrade to a subscription which allows you to manage a producer's showcase, including a portfolio of shorts, clips and trailers.
